Something to get us through the day

"I know that each of us has a vital and essential role as a daughter of God. He has bestowed upon His daughters divine attributes for the purpose of forwarding His work. God has entrusted women with the sacred work of bearing and rearing children. No other work is more important. It is a holy calling. The noblest office for a woman is the sacred work of building eternal families, ideally in partnership with her husband."

  1. Thanks Emmy! I get so excited every time there is a new post, this is such a great idea! I'm also SO excited for our brother! I talked to him yesterday afternoon and he still didn't know when he was going to propose. He just bought the ring last night! Haha, I'm excited for another woman in the family, especially one as special as Jaclyn!

  3. He is so funny!! They were just at Jac's house, he was studying, she was writing emails and that's when he decides to just do it... So he tells her he's going out to get some flash cards from his car and gets the ring out of his backpack. So when they were saying goodnight they were just on the front porch talking, sitting on the bench/swing, and he got down on one knee. And from his own words, "As soon as I got down on one knee I kind of panicked, I didn't know what I was going to say, I hadn't even thought about it. So I just said the first thing that came to my mind, 'Jaclyn Ruth Hardcastle, will you marry me?'" And that was it!! Hahahaha!!! He Dallin hiding in the trees outside with a video camera but he didn't even get Jac's face, only Matt's. Matt thinks he looks goofy but oh man do I want to see that video!!! Oh Matt... didn't we raise him better than that? Just kidding, he wanted to take her off guard and I think he accomplished it.

  4. Wow, our brother is suave. :) Em, it was YOUR job to tell him what to say at the proposal, wasn't it? It was MY job to tell him that you don't console girls by telling them they just haven't lost their "baby fat" yet.

  5. Ha ha, love the "baby fat" comment - well I don't know about your guys' experience, but that's similar to how Willie's proposal to me went down. Unexpected? yes. Eloquent and debonair? no. But super sincere? yes. Men are a work in progress (and women too I guess :)
