No Patience to Learn Patience!

Hello Ladies! I came across this little clip yesterday and it was such a great reminder of the blessings of patience. President Uchtdorf's talk really touched me the first time I heard it, but the visuals of the kiddos really drive the point home for me! :) Sometimes I want to be the kid stuffing his face as I lose patience with all the ways the Lord is trying to teach me patience!! I think, "I already learned how to be patient! How about you send this lesson on to someone who could really use it?" (Sounds like I could use a humility lesson as well :) Those urges are stifled when I realize that too many of my life's greatest blessings have come from exercising just a little patience. Why not allow the Lord to fulfill his promises by just waiting peacefully a little longer?

And as you all know, being a mommy and wife many lessons of patience are automatically built in. :) So what is that one area in life where you could exercise just a little more patience?

Enough talk, enjoy!

  1. Wow, I needed that today. Sometimes I feel like a chicken with my head cut off. It seems like as soon as I conquer one problem two grow in it's place. I will never be "on top" of everything or be able to control everything. I love the last little scene where the girl gets two marshmallows. I waited and waited... and got two boys haha! Now I need patience more than ever! Thanks Lizzy, love you!

  2. I think I need to learn more patience in every aspect of my life! I need to quite dreaming about "someday," and start enjoying today. For example, someday I won't have to work. Someday we won't live in fear of immigration. Someday Rosie will be able to wipe the poop off her own bum. Someday I will have a nicer kitchen to cook in. Someday Cesar will finally be done with school. Instead, my focus needs to be on the positive! I am glad I get to work and be out of the home for a few hours. I am so grateful to live in this country, and I will never take it for granted. Rosie has the cutest bum! How could I not want to wipe the poop off of it?! I am so glad I have appliances and a space to cook in. I am so excited Cesar will have the opportunity to go to grad school! That's an opportunity that many people don't get. Thank you for the reminder, Liz! I will also be continually learning this lesson, so maybe I just need to embrace it. :)
